The most common mistake people make when the topic of a computer virus arises is to refer to a worm or Trojan horse as a virus. People do not seem to understand how time consuming the removal of malware, trojans etc are, and seem shocked that we cannot guarantee that a full removal will happen, if at all. Depending on the severity of an infection it can be a case of having to wipe a computer fully, then re-install everythign again, and again, this too is a time consuming and costly process.

The best rule is to stay away from web sites you do not know. DO NOT EVER USE programs such as LIMEWIRE, BEARSHARE on a company network and above all else, make sure you have the latest antivirus and operating systems updates installed at all times.
